Easy Healthy Snacks to Pack to School

As college students we are so busy with hours of back to back classes, working, studying and hanging out with friends that it becomes difficult to remember to pack snacks to eat during the day. We are so forgetful that we don’t even remember until our stomachs begin rumbling in the middle of a lecture.

Down below are a few simple snack ideas that are easy to prepare and grab before you start your day.

  • Veggies and Hummus

This is such a simple and easy snack to pack! Buy a container of your favorite hummus at the store and divide into small containers. Cut up some of your favorite vegetables like carrots, celery, and bell peppers and portion into snack size zip lock bags. Store in refrigerator until you need to grab it in the morning!

  • Peanut Butter and Apples

Like the veggies and hummus, portion about 2 tablespoons of peanut butter into small individual containers. Cut up a full apple and place in a zip lock bag or container. You can also cut up celery to eat with the peanut butter as well. Peanut butter and apples are a great snack to eat after a workout!

  • Fruit with Peels

Next time you are grocery shopping, buy fruits that have peels on them so they are easy to grab and store into your backpack. This way you don’t have to prepare them and they don’t get dirty since you will be tossing the outer peel anyways. Some ideas include tangerines and bananas.

  • Granola Bars

Granola bars are also super easy to grab and go in the morning. Next time at the grocery store stock up on your favorite granola bars to keep in your pantry so you can grab as you run out the door.

  • Trail Mix

You can either buy premade trail mix and portion out into ziplock bags for the rest of the week or you can make your own! We have a video on how to make trail mix but you can personalize it but adding different cereals, nuts, and dried fruits to customize it just for you!

  • Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

Another easy snack and good post-workout snack is a peanut butter and banana sandwich. Spread a tablespoon of peanut butter onto a slice of whole wheat bread. Slice a banana and lay banana slices onto the bread with peanut butter on it. Then place another piece of bread on top. Cut sandwich in half and place into a container or zip lock bag to munch on later!
