Cal Poly will become a neighborhood food distribution site for the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County starting Tuesday, April 24.
This is a new addition to the partnership of Campus Health & Wellbeing with The Food Bank Coalition. At this additional food distribution site participants can receive one bag of pantry food and one bag of fresh produce, each month.
“This service is being provided to ensure that all students, faculty, and staff have access to nutritious foods” Cal Poly Health Educator, Christine Nelson.
The food distribution will take place on Mott Lawn on the fourth Tuesday of each month. Campus Health & Wellbeing staff and Food Bank volunteers will be passing out bags from 4 to 6 p.m. right outside Mott Gym.
To receive food, participants must be at least 18 years old and certify that they meet USDA income guidelines by signing in. No identification or proof of income is required to participate.
