Week 3: Mental Emotional Resilience

Hello 31 Days of Wellness Participants!

We are over half-way through the 31 Days of Wellness! Congratulations on your participation this far, whether you’ve attended one of our sponsored events or completed a self-guided activity, we hope this challenge is giving you some helpful tips and strategies to think about your health & well-being.

Mental Emotional Resilience Week
This week is dedicated to mental emotional resilience.  Taking care of our mental health aka our minds, noggins, heads, and brains, contributes to our overall health and well-being.  Last week participants explored a wide range of physical health activities and events, with gentle reminders to do little things for physical health.

Our brains and minds also require love and attention.  This week our special guest speaker Dr. Kelly Bennion from Cal Poly Psychology & Child Development will join us for a Learn @ Lunch titled, Sleep, Memory & Emotion on Thursday, 12:00pm – 1:00pm in Robert E. Kennedy Library 216B.  Inquiring minds will receive free lunch from Kona Deli.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, the activities this week relate to universal tools and strategies aimed at fostering mental emotional resilience; however, if you are feeling anxious, having difficulty coping with stress, or experiencing suicidal thoughts, there are confidential campus and community resources available to help.  Even if you’re not experiencing these thoughts and feelings, being knowledgeable about these resources can help others and potentially save a life:
