Transitions-Mental Health Association is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating stigma and promoting recovery and wellness for people with mental illness through work, housing, community and family support services. They operate over 35 programs throughout San Luis Obispo and North Santa Barbara where their main emphasis is to teach vital independent living skills and help build a framework for community re-entry through personal empowerment and hands-on experience. On January 20th, 2017, TMHA will be hosting their Eighth Annual Journey of Hope event at the New Life Community Church in Pismo Beach. Join us this Inauguration Day from 6:00-8:00 p.m. for a community forum focused on Living Mentally Well and Trauma Informed Care. The event is free and no reservations are required. This event will feature the keynote speaker, Gabriella Grant, the Director of the California Center of Excellence for Trauma Informed Care. Be prepared to learn about the concept of trauma, the trauma-informed approach, and ways in which we can all play a role in healing our community.
